This kids club meets two times a month at various beaches around Cape Cod. Most children have Mistral Windgliders or other
childrens windsurfing equipment. Having your own gear is helpful but not a necessity. Rigs will be available on the beach at
these meetings. These sailing meetings will take place in June, July, August, and September every other weekend depending
on the schedule. This schedule will be organized as well as the location by the CCWA Kids Club Coordinator. This coordinator
will be present at the beach at all times during these fun sailing meetings and will be a focal point of information about this
fun group.

2000 Nevin Sayre FREE Windsurfing Kids CampJuly 8-9, 2000
Greetings! Those of you who
participated in the Kids Camp last summer at West Dennis Beach know we
gotta pull if off again Planning is already well underway with site permits, insurance, advertising, equipment, etc. for Kids Camp 2000 and it is time to start organizing volunteers. My goal is to have 200 kids at this year's camp, and I'm preparing for 240 (80 in each session). You don't have to be an expert windsurfer or certified instructor to be a volunteer, all you need is a great positive attitude and the willingness to donate some of your time for kids. I need 50 volunteers for each of the three sessions- one instructor per Windglider and 10 volunteers on shore. Here's the scoop: When? July 8 & 9, 2000.....Mark your calendars! Where? Coonamesett Pond, Falmouth, Cape Cod, Massachusetts Particulars? We're sticking with the same basic recipe as last year's event with two notable exceptions: 1/ After six months of town meetings, red tape, and investigations we have landed permission to use Coonamesett Pond which is a beautiful protected lake along side the Cape Cod Country Club in the Hatchville area of Falmouth. I am very pleased with this site. A secluded sand beach and grass rigging area make the ideal setting and kids will feel super safe and comfortable here. We are not at the mercy of tides and we will basically have the place to ourselves. Easy directions and a 15 minute drive from the Bourne Bridge bring you to Coonamesett Pond, just off Hwy 151 between North Falmouth and Mashpee. Also key is sufficient parking.

This year kids will only be able to register for one of the three
sessions. Sorry, but this way we can give more new kids a chance. We hope
that esteemed graduates of last year's Kids Camp will also sign up for one
session, improve their skills, and help inspire the rookies. Special
thanks to Jac and Jill Quin who have agreed to handle registration. This
is huge! You can register kids, aged 6-12, at Tinho is back! We are extremely fortunate to have Tinho Dornellas of Calema Windsurfing coming up from Florida to spearhead the instruction. Tinho has not only taught more kids than any one I know, but his infectious attitude makes him the perfect fit for the Kids Camp. A gracious benefactor has generously offered to donate Tinho's airfare. Thank you! Forty Windgliders and thirty-five mini sails are arranged for KC2000 with two kids and one volunteer instructor planned per Windglider. These Windgliders will be available at special prices after the Kids Camp at local Windglider dealers. All of our sponsors are on board for KC2000, as well as some new ones. Thank you to Calema Windsurfing, Cape Cod Windsurfing Association, Cape Cod Printing, Carrera, Bare Wetsuits, Creative Creamery (Ice Cream Rick), Da Kine, Fiberspar, HowlingBird Studios, New England Windsurfing Journal, Okespor, Stina Swedish Design, Windglider, and Windsurfing Magazine. These companies are helping kids!

Looking forward to all those big grins as they sheet in on their first reach. Thank you, N Nevin Sayre, US-9 Past Events!!
